Jorge Masvidal made a career out of the flying knee knockout of Ben Askren. Since Masvidal’s record fastest KO of Askren, many copy it in professional fights and street fights. Now, in a recent video, a man used the technique on a Las Vegas cop. The video went viral on social media.

The video starts amid a fight scene between an unidentified man and a Las Vegas cop. The cop is already down and starting to get up. At that moment, the man proceeded to use Jorge Masvidal’s iconic fight move. He hit the cop with a flying knee. However, its impact was nowhere near that of Masvidal’s. Moreover, some other cops also came in and subdued the man. Nevertheless, the man showed great technique in holding his own in the air before he hit the cop with his knee.

Even though Masvidal has a legendary career in professional MMA and unsanctioned street fights, the flying knee is what made him famous. It even made him a PPV star, even though he never held a UFC championship. The year 2019 was the best of Masvidal’s professional career. The flying knee victory was between his KO of Darren Till and TKO of Nate Diaz for the BMF belt.

However, since 2019, Masvidal has not won. He lost to Kamaru Usman, Colby Covington, and Gilbert Burns. After the Burns fight at UFC 287, Masvidal retired from MMA. Nevertheless, he hinted at a comeback in boxing in early 2024 in a recent ESPN MMA interview.
