Dana White and his Power Slapping League are in trouble yet again. After the Nevada State Athletic Commission drug tested the roster, six fighters tested positive. NSAC suspended them temporarily, with a full hearing scheduled to discuss their disciplinary action. Chairman Anthony Marnell made a hilarious remark about the situation before suspending the fighters.
He said, “Is there like a big bowl of performance-enhancing drugs down there somewhere that I don’t know about? I haven’t seen this in quite a while. I didn’t know you needed to use steroids to slap, but I guess we’re going to find out.” The following fighters got suspended by the NSAC: TJ Thomas, Jay Rivera, Chris Thomas, Frank Holland, Isaih Quinones, and Andrew Provost.
Dana White or the other executives of the Power Slap League has yet to respond. Power Slapping received plenty of criticism during its run on the TBS network. Dana White mocked the media for their unwavering publicity of the event. He claimed that Power Slapping became successful because of the media’s involvement in criticizing them.
However, Ariel Helwani came out to defend the MMA media. He looked at the ratings and claimed that Dana White might be lying and that the MMA media played no part in promoting the Power Slap League. So far, there will not be another season of Power Slapping on TBS. However, Dana will look to other networks to produce another season.
Tim Sylvia wins a Power Slapping Competition

Former UFC Heavyweight Champion and retired fighter Tim Sylvia debuted at a Power Slapping event in Oklahoma. He made it to the finals of the competition. In the finals, he defeated a man nicknamed “The Bouncer” to win the match in Oklahoma.
Sylvia had not fought since his retirement in 2013. The final years of his MMA career consisted of brutal losses and weight troubles. After three consecutive losses, Sylvia decided to retire from combat sports.
In 2023, he decided to return to Combat Sports. This time, he decided to compete as a Power Slapper. He showcased good slapping power and the ability to take a slap from others. He went on to win the tournament in Oklahoma. It remains to be seen if he continues to compete in Power Slapping.
