“Did he take the vax?” – Speculative and negative comments flood social media post UFC icon Anthony “Rumble” Johnson’s untimely demise
Anthony "Rumble" Johnson
Anthony “Rumble” Johnson was one of the best one-punch knockout artists that MMA has ever seen, and he surely will be missed, as the news of his passing was recently announced.
Johnson leaves behind an illustrious MMA career – with 23 wins and 6 losses, the American was able to vaporize a staggering 17 of his opponents by way of knockout, cementing his claim as one of the most dangerous light heavyweights on the planet. He made his name in the UFC, having fought for the title – however, the light heavyweight strap eluded him.
The American 205er had two stints in the UFC, with the first one coming to an end in 2012, when he lost against Vitor Belfort. After fighting in WSOF and the Titan Fighting Championship, Johnson made a triumphant return to the UFC against Phil Davis, in 2014. In his second run, he fought the likes of Antonio Nogueira, Alexander Gustafsson and Daniel Cormier – losing only to the latter, in this non-exhaustive list.
A lot of support for his family, and tributes to his career have poured in on social media. However, there are still quite some negative comments that MMA fans have left, that point to potential covid and vaccine-related implications, regarding his death.
Check out some of these reactions, below.
