Eddie Hall is a retired Strongman who won the 2017 World’s Strongest Man competition. He also boxed fellow World Strongest Man winner Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson in a boxing match in Dubai. He has also grappled with the UFC interim heavyweight champion, Tom Aspinall. Unfortunately, he lost the fight via unanimous decision. Recently, an MMA sparring video of Hall circulated widely on social media.

In the video, Hall sparred with an opponent, possibly a trained martial artist. Hall stood in the orthodox position, whereas his opponent was in the Southpaw position. The sparring session ended quickly as the martial artist knocked down Hall with a left-head kick. The martial artist faked the jab twice, which moved Hall into position for an easy head kick.

The video perfectly showed that technique matters in a fight, not muscles. Conor McGregor famously said that precision beats power and timing beats speed. Even though Hall was a stronger athlete, the mixed martial artist easily dispatched him with basic technique. Nonetheless, Hall acknowledged his mistake and even congratulated the opponent.
