“See You Soon” Yoel Romero sends a terrifying notice to his division after Gegard Mousasi’s defeat at Bellator 282

Romero teases a return to Middleweight
Yoel Romero may have moved up to 205 but middleweight will always be his home. Today as Gegard Mousasi was dethroned from his spot as Bellator’s 185 pound champion, a former perennial contender in Romero announced that he was coming back home.
Romero was cut from the UFC in December of 2020 when he became a free agent. Following this he signed to Bellator amidst heavy hype of him joining the PFL tournament. He announced that he would be moving to Light Heavyweight at Bellator and faced Phil Davis in his debut after a bout with Anthony Rumble Johnson was canceled.
Romero would lose the bout via a decision, expressing shock at the end of the fight as he claimed he was unaware that the main event was just three rounds compared to the UFC’s 5. In his second bout he would be scheduled to face Melvin Manhoef but the bout would be scrapped as Manhoef pulled out due to injuries, replacing him with Alex Polizzi. The fight would go three rounds when Romero managed to gain the TKO victory at the buzzer winning his first fight in Bellator and his first since February of 2018.
Yoel Romero announces return to middleweight after Gegard Mousasi’s defeat

At Bellator 282, reigning champion Gegard Mousasi would be dethroned by Johnny Elben in his third title defense via unanimous decision. This shook up the landscape of the division as Bellator promoted Mousasi to be the best 185er on the planet. If that wasn’t enough, the former perennial UFC title challenger announced his return to his original division.
On Twitter Romero said shortly after Elben’s victory, “185” ominously announcing his return to the weight class. He then followed it up with his eternal words targeted at Michael Bisping saying, “I see you soon boi” warning Elben to take care of his newly acquired title.
Romero is however already scheduled to face a formerly targeted opponent, Melvin Manhoef in the Light heavyweight division at Bellator 285 in September. Do you see Romero capturing a world title at 45 years of age or is it too late for “The Soldier Of God”
