“I don’t necessarily share that information,” Joan Mir’s mechanic gives an insight into the distribution of information
Joan Mir
It’s been a difficult few days for Joan Mir and Suzuki with the Japanese manufacturer deciding to quit after facing economic difficulties and Russia’s war against Ukraine. This would mean that Joan Mir and Alex Rins might have to look for a different manufacturer at the end of the season. Joan Mir has enjoyed a decent enough season despite not being able to register a win or a podium throughout the course of the season.
Joan Mir didn’t enjoy a particularly good French GP just like his team mate, Alex Rins. Both the drivers couldn’t finish the race as Suzuki suffered a huge blow. Things have gone from bad to worse for the manufacturers. Joan Mir suffered a crash in the Grand Prix with the Spanish rider slipping further down in the MotoGP standings. The rider would have to pick him up after a difficult French Grand Prix.
But amidst all of this, Joan Mir’s mechanic, Frankie Carchedi, gave us an insight in the transmission of information to the rider. He told us about the chain in which the information is given to the rider and how it is important to filter the information before it reaches the rider and creates unnecessary panic in the pits.

Joan Mir’s mechanic, Frankie Carchedi, opens up about the distribution of information to the rider
Joan Mir’s mechanic, Frankie Carchedi, in his recent information said, “I don’t actually give to Joan as much of what the mechanics tell me. For example, I can get information from staff about tyre temperatures and pressures. if they are a little high or low they will let me know over the radio and confirm that they want to add or take off air.”
“But it wouldn’t necessarily need to share that information with the rider.“
“And I’m also less dependent on the headset as soon as the rider enters the garage because when the bike comes and is docked to the computer the data sharing is practically instantaneous, so all it takes is a quick glance at the screen and then I go to Joan and inform you,” as reported by motorcyclesports.
Joan Mir’s mechanic told us about how things work in the paddock as the riders come in the pits and what are the dos and don’ts during the course of the weekend.
