“The real difference is made by the drivers,” Luigi Dall’Igna following Enea Bastianini’s win on an unofficial Ducati
Enea Bastianini
Enea Bastianini had already won two races in the season and made it three with a driving masterclass at Le Man as he finished two odd seconds ahead of Jack Miller. This brings him within touching distance of the Yamaha rider and reigning world champion, Fabio Quartararo, who despite having the pace couldn’t get the job done in his home race as he finished P4. Now the gap in the gap between Fabio and Enea is just 8 points.
We have seen the dominance of Ducati over the rest of the pack in terms of raw pace and also in terms of the number of riders starting on the grid. We saw as many as 8 riders starting the race for Ducati at Le Mans but it was Enea Bastianini, who despite being on an unofficial Ducati made the biggest of impacts as he continued his quest to snatch the title from his arch rival, Fabio Quartararo.
Enea Bastianini rides a Desmosedici GP21 under the Gresini team. This was a statement win for the Italian as he got the better off his rival, Fransesco Bagnaia. He was demolished and swept away by a masterclass by his compatriot and eventually didn’t finish the race due to his mistake. This has made him fall even further down in his quest to beat Fabio Quartararo.

Luigi Dall’Igna congratulates Enea Bastianini for his win in France despite being on an unofficial Ducati
Luigi Dall’Igna made his feelings known after the race ended and reflected on the amazing victory secured by Enea Bastianini. He said, ““I would have liked to have seen them both reach the finish line.”
“It would have been an all-Ducati podium, with Miller with them. Bagnaia, while finishing second, would have shortened the gap in the standings from Quartararo. However, it was a beautiful day for Ducati.“
“On Enea our attention has always been at the maximum, but without the agreement with the Gresini team we would have struggled to keep him. He has a top-notch bike, albeit an unofficial one.”
“The real difference is made by the drivers,” as reported by formulapassion.
Enea Bastianini has continued to impress one and all with his performances and has also proved his critics wrong who felt he couldn’t do it on an unofficial Ducati Bike. He’s right in the mix to win the championship now.
