“The situation is similar,” Andrea Dovizioso compares Yamaha’s problem to Honda’s in the past

Andrea Dovizioso has had an awful season until this point with just 8 points in the first 7 races while his team mate Fabio Quartararo has been flying on the Yamaha M1 despite facing issues with the bike. We have Yamaha struggle badly against the likes of Ducati which carries way more speed on the straight than their arch rivals but despite of that, Fabio Quartararo has somehow find a way to make it work.

The reigning world champion, Fabio Quartararo, stands on top of the championship standings with 102 points, 4 points ahead of Aleix Espargaro and 8 points ahead of Ducati’s Enea Bastianini, who recently registered his third victory of the season. The performances and the results racked up by Fabio Quartararo have definitely taken everyone by surprise.

While Fabio Quartararo continues to score valuable points and emerge as the silver lining for Yamaha, his team mates Andrea Dovizioso, Franco Morbidelli and Darryn Binder have completely failed to leave any sort of impression on the track. This exact situation reminds us of Honda in the last few years when Marc Marquez produced magic while others could not live up with that.

Andrea Dovizioso believes the current situation in Yamaha is somewhat similar to Honda in the past six years

Andrea Dovizioso also resonated with the same thought as he reflect on this season up till this point. He said, “The bike is really good in some areas because Fabio showed really incredible things. He is able to really dance in every track and make a lot of speed in the middle of the corners. “

“But they are, in my opinion, in a very similar situation as Marc and Honda in the last six years – in a different way, because the bike is completely different.”

“But now the situation is similar to Honda. Just one rider is able to use the potential and make a huge gap compared to the other riders,” as reported by motorsport.

It’s pretty evident that Fabio Quartararo has been able to extract so much more out of that Yamaha than any other driver and that definitely something Yamaha will have to look into.
