Here is what the Suzuki rider said, “It was really spectacular [to be able to end his days as an official Suzuki rider]. I tried to stay calm all weekend and contain my emotions. But on the grid, when we say goodbye to the team members, I was crying. I was crying a lot because they were six very good years together.”

“To be honest it was really incredible, we had an incredible race after a great start, where I started from fifth place and made the first corner. But then it was not easy to control the race. I was leading every lap but the guy behind me was about half a second away from me for the whole race, so it was important not to make any mistakes. We ended up getting it, I’m very happy and proud because both Suzuki and I deserved this victory, as well as all the Suzuki fans,” he said.

“We showed the world that Suzuki can still win. The decision to leave MotoGP is up to the brand and I respect it. I did everything in my power and that makes me very proud,” he concluded .

It is a shame to see a team like Suzuki leave the sport but the decision is not for the fans to take. Although it is fair to say that Alex Rins surely didn’t disappoint as he gave the team a gift that they will remember for their whole life. A plethora of emotions emerged from the Suzuki garage as Rins crossed the line and his excitement had no bounds. With this being Suzuki’s last race, the result couldn’t have been any better.
