Marco Bezzecchi has been phenomenal when it comes to his performances this year. The Mooney VR46 team rider has gone on to clinch three wins this season and remains fairly a strong contender in the championship battle. However, despite his results, it is understood that he is driving a year old bike as such is the norm. Although, this could change soon.

Ducati have stated that Marco Beszecchi deserves to ride a factory bike: However, for that to happen, he would have to move to Pramac who are using those bikes. This has left Valentino Rossi’s team’s rider in a bit of a pickle. Marco hasn’t shown any signs of intent to sign with Pramac. With Johann Zarco leaving the team at the end of the season, the decision lies with the Italian rider.

Ducati is still very keen on having him ride the latest bikes. Speaking to GPOne.com, Gigi Dall’Igna said: “There really isn’t much room for manoeuvre in this sense. For us, Marco deserves a factory bike because he has shown that he has the talent and ability, however, our offer has its limits,” he said. “We have agreements and the factory bikes are in the Pramac team, we couldn’t do anything about this,” he continued.

Marco uses year-old Desmosedicis at VR46. Meanwhile the Factory Ducati team and Pramac Racing team have access to the latest bikes. Marco Bezzecchi has stated that his main plan is to stay with the VR 46 team for next year and race with the year old bikes. This being unless Ducati agrees to change its stance on a fifth GP24 entry.

Meanwhile, Pecco Bagnaia has racked up a 62 point lead in the championship as Marco falls behind. Pecco won the sprint race and the main race last time out and looks stronger than ever to compete for utmost glory. Pecco won the race by more than 5 seconds which seems to highlight the power that the driver and his latest Ducati yields. It will be interesting to see where Marco ends up for next year.
