“Fabio stands in that group”: Yamaha boss Lin Jarvis believes Fabio Quartararo stands at par with MotoGP legends like Rossi and Lorenzo

For Fabio Quartararo, the 23-year-old son of former 125cc Championship winner Etienne Quartararo, winning has been a habit ever since he was young. Quartararo’s MotoGP career has mostly been a constant upward ride as he has never had to look back since he started in motorsports.
With 6 Spanish junior championship titles to his name, Fabio Quartararo is one of the most accolades youngsters in the history of MotoGP, and it made any of the pundits think that the Frenchman is made for bigger things. With huge expectations to live up to, Fabio caved to the pressure in Moto3 and Moto2, where he could not fetch such amazing results, but he managed to make the move to MotoGP, the elite class of motorcycle racing, with Petronas Yamaha SRT in 2019.
In his rookie year, Fabio Quartararo exceeded all expectations by scoring seven podium finishes. He got the Rookie of the Year award, and was placed fifth in the Championship standings. Ever since then, he was visualised to become a World Champion one day, and of course, he was compared to the likes of Valentino Rossi, Marc Marquez, and Jorge Lorenzo. Now, Lin Jarvis, Team Boss of Yamaha, Quartararo’s current MotoGP team, is speaking about how he believes the young rider is indeed comparable to the greatest names in the sport.

Fabio Quartararo gave a thunderous performance in 2021 and clinched the title for the MotoGP World Champion in his third year in this league. He beat huge names in MotoGP like Enea Bastianini, Francesco Bagnaia, and many others, to win his place at the top of the Championship standings. And his continued perseverance has made his Team Boss at Yamaha, Lin Jarvis, believe that the 23-year-old has the same qualities that Valentino Rossi, Jorge Lorenzo and Marc Marquez possess.
Speaking about Fabio Quartararo, Jarvis said, “Certainly, he has that amazing natural talent that champions have. A true champion always has some extra spark or ability, and you can say that whether that’s Valentino, whether that’s Jorge Lorenzo, whether that’s Marc Marquez, whether that’s Casey Stoner. You can name those guys and Fabio stands in that group.”
Of course, only six races into the new MotoGP 2022 season, Fabio has already made a comeback after a few upsetting performances to seek the top place in the Championship standings. Now, it remains to be seen if the Frenchman will be able to win the title for a second time in a row.
