“I don’t think it’ll be a problem”: Fabio Quartararo believes RNF Racing changing factory teams will not affect Yamaha’s future in MotoGP

Fabio Quartararo
It is a very common practice in MotoGP for factory teams to have some satellite teams under them, which do not manufacture their own motorbikes, and take them on lease from the major factory teams like Yamaha, Honda, etc. One such satellite team, which has a deal with Yamaha till the end of the 2022 season, is RNF Racing.
As per the reports, RNF Racing has now entered into a deal with Aprilia which will entitle them to use Aprilia’s bikes for the next two seasons of MotoGP.

With this, Yamaha remains without any satellite teams under them. But according to reigning World Champion and current Championship leader Fabio Quartararo, having only two riders in the grid will not be a problem for Yamaha because he believes, the team will still get the desired results from the French rider and his teammate Franco Morbidelli.
Fabio Quartararo remains unfazed by news of RNF Racing changeing factory teams

Come 2023, RNF Racing will get their machines from Aprilia, and their association with Fabio Quartararo’s team, Yamaha, will come to an end. The contract between RNF Racing and Aprilia was finalised a few days ago, and according to its terms, the deal will hold true for two years, with a possible extension for two more years.
While speaking on this recent news, Fabio Quartararo maintained his stance that if RNF Racing changes factory teams, it will not cause Yamaha any trouble to have only two riders in the race.
The French racer said, “I don’t think this will be a problem. At this moment I can say that since the beginning of the season we have never looked at the RNF data. I don’t know what Yamaha’s plan is but if we have two bikes for 2023 I don’t think it will be a problem for Yamaha.”
