Darryn Binder failed to score any points in the 2022 Monster Energy British Grand Prix after showing exceptional race pace in the opening laps. It looked like the Yamaha rider was on track for a good result. Failing to manage his tyres properly after the opening laps meant that the South African rider fell out of the points places and slotted in p20. This was not a satisfying result for the rider clearly and he has made it clear that he is working to improve his performances.

After the British Grand Prix concluded, Darryn Binder said that he was happy that MotoGP racing action was back after almost a month. He also admitted that his performance at Silverstone could have been much better. The South African rider has stated that he now knows what he needs to improve in order to display better performances during the races. It was a good experience, it was good to be back, to start over. Obviously I would have liked to do better, but it is what it is. We had a starting point again. I know I can be strong in the first few laps and I know that my fastest lap in the race is usually not too bad compared to the other riders. I just need to make sure I can maintain that pace throughout the race and on tracks where there is some tyre wear I need to learn how to keep the tyre a little better to be strong at the end,” he said.

Darryn Binder is currently placed 21st in the 2022 Motogp championship with 10 points to his name. It will be interesting to see the South African rider’s performance in the remainder of the season. Being Brad Binder’s brother, there is a slight pressure on the Yamaha rider to perform well. Where do you think Darryn Binder will be placed on the Championship standings at the end of the season?
