MotoGP fans will be looking to get some spicy action all weekend from the British Grand Prix weekend happening at the Silverstone Circuit , we have just gotten the results from the Qualifying Session of the 12th MotoGP race of this season. During the last race in Assen which happened just before the summer break, drama unfolded.

World championship leader Fabio Quartararo clashed with title rival Aleix Espargaro and further proceeded to retire from the race. Meanwhile Espargaro was pushed down to 15th place but managed to recover and cross the finish line in an amazing p4. This has brought down Fabio Quartararo’s title lead over the Aprilia rider to just 21 points.

After a month long summer break for MotoGP, all the riders are relaxed and have rested well and are hungry for the racing action. At Silverstone, everyone will be looking for some close competition between the likes of Quartararo, Espargaro, Bastianini, and others. This is because every rider wants to cut down on the championship points gap between each other and finish the remainder of the season on a high. On Saturday, the Silverstone Qualifying saw Johann Zarco in a thunderous form as he blasted into pole position edging out the Aprilia of Maverick Vinales by less then a tenth of a second.

2022 British Grand Prix

After suffering a massive crash during Free Practice 4, it was doubtful whether the rider would take part in Q2. He was taken to the medical centre after his crash where it was deemed that he had no fractures thankfully. At the end of Q2, the Spaniard somehow managed to put his Aprilia in 6th position for tomorrow’s race. Ducati’s Jack Miller managed to grab the third spot on the grid meanwhile the current championship leader, Fabio Quartararo qualified in 4th position. Ducati is in a strong position to gain points as a constructor with Bagnaia coming 5th.

Enea Bastianini who topped Q1 proceeded to finish Q2 in 8th position. While his Pramac Ducati teammate is on pole position, Jorge Martin is down in 9th place. With the grid being so close to each other in qualifying, tomorrow’s race has just become a whole lot more interesting. It will be interesting to see who comes out on top in between title contenders Fabio Quartararo and Aleix Espargaro.

The Spanish rider must have been in massive pain. Johann Zarco has a great chance of shortening the championship points gap between him and Quartararo. The Yamaha rider will be serving a long lap penalty in tomorrow’s race to make it even spicier. Multiple riders managed to break the lap record in Q2 which was great to see. Tomorrow’s race will surely be very interesting and is one that you shouldn’t miss.
