MotoGP has announced a groundbreaking partnership with a state-owned Oil company worth $55 billion. This formidable alliance sees the state-owned energy company becoming the official title sponsor of the inaugural Indian Grand Prix. The race, tentatively titled the Grand Prix of Bharat, is set to undergo a name change.

The event, now officially known as the ‘IndianOil Grand Prix of India,’ is set to take place at the Buddh International Circuit in Greater Noida from September 22 to 24, 2023. This sponsorship underscores the energy company’s commitment to supporting the growth of motorsports in India.

IndianOil, a Fortune 500 company, is a diversified energy conglomerate interested in oil, gas, petrochemicals, and alternative energy sources. Preparations for the event are in full swing, with the arrival of MotoGP motorcycles, along with Moto2 and Moto3 bikes, escorted to the Buddh International Circuit by the Uttar Pradesh Police. Michelin, a trusted name in the racing world, has supplied the essential tires to ensure optimal performance on the track.

Riders from across the globe are gearing up for the event, with their arrival in India scheduled for September 19. The race weekend is packed with action, including practice sessions, qualifying races, and the main races for all three categories: MotoGP, Moto2, and Moto3.
