“The King Is back,” MotoGP Twitter thrives as Marc Marquez makes a comeback after long injury layoff

The Italian GP held in Mugello was Marc Marquez’s last MotoGP race appearance before he headed off to the USA for his operation. It was after the Italian GP qualifying round that the Honda rider announced that he will be sitting out the 2022 MotoGP season. The main cause being him getting a fourth operation done on his right arm and the recovery period needed after the operation is done. There were multiple updates shared about his progress which gave us the idea that the MotoGP legend is recovering quickly.
Previously it was understood that Marc Marquez will return to the sport directly in 2023. Although after showing steady progress, he decided that it was time to get back on the bike. He completed 2 tests on a Honda CBR600 RR at the Aragon circuit after which it was announced that he was medically cleared to take part in the Misano MotoGP tests where he rode the Honda RC213V. After these successful tests, Marc made an important decision with his team and all parties agreed that it was safe for the rider to get back on his bike and go racing.
A few days prior to the Aragon GP weekend, it was announced that Marc Marquez will be making his comeback sooner than anticipated sending fans into an uproar of enthusiasm. Marquez just took part in his first FP1 session after 4 months of being out of the sport. In his competitive return, the Spanish rider managed to finish in 11th place as he starts to progressively adapt to the bike. Here is how the fans reacted to the MotoGP legend’s return.

While it’s nice to see Marc Marquez back in the sport, there also lie concerns as to whether he will be able to take another hit like that. Another massive accident for the Spanish rider will effectively end his career for good now unless he makes some changes to his aggressive driving style. What lies ahead for the Repsol Honda rider is unknown but it surely is a pleasure to see him back where he belongs.
