The Aragon GP was one to watch as the riders went on to put on an amazing and equally dramatic outing in front of the fans. It is tough to decide whether the finish was more nerve racking or the start. This was the weekend that Marc Marquez had chosen to make his comeback to the sport after being out for almost 4 months as he had bone realignment surgery on his arm and furthermore focused on recovery. His first race being back in the sport was not what the 8 time world champion had expected to turn like.

Takaaki Nakagami did not have the best of Sunday’s at last week’s Aragon GP as the driver was not able to finish the race. Marc Marquez got a great start from 13th and managed to pass a bunch of riders. There was unfortunately in incident where Marc’s rear tyre had a small slide and his pace drastically reduced leaving championship leader Fabio Quartararo with nowhere to go as he crashed into the back of him. The Yamaha riders fairing got stuck in the Repsol Honda rider’s rear wheel.

This became a big issue further on as this was the problem that led to Takaaki Nakagami’s crash. Marc Marquez had slowed down as he discovered that problem in his bike but unfortunately the Japanese rider came in contact with him as it was imminent. What happened further was that the Repsol Honda rider continued while Takaaki was left stranded on the track while other riders came at him on full speed.

After contact, Marc saw that there were parts falling down from his bike which meant that he immediately went into the pits to retire the bike. Ultimately all three riders could not finish the race but escaped with minor injuries with there being some burn marks on championship leader Fabio Quartararo’s chest. It was a series of unlucky incidents that contributed to this result on the opening lap of the 2022 Aragon GP.

The 2022 MotoGP championship seems to have blown wide open with Espargaro, Quartararo and Bagnaia all getting the chance to take the win. Although Quartararo seems to have poor pace in the last few rounds so it looks tough for him. Marc Marquez told the media that a bad result like this won’t affect him as he is preparing for 2023 by racing in the remaining few rounds of this season.
