“We did 90 laps, it wasn’t bad,” Alex Rins stoked about achieving his goal on his first day with Honda

Alex Rins was a Suzuki Ecstar MotoGP rider for most of his career in the premier class of the sport. However, the Japanese manufacturer announced their plans to leave the sport during the start of this year. This in turn left the fans and the team members at Suzuki in a tough situation. However the team did their best and finished the season in style with Rins.
The Suzuki rider went on to win the team’s last ever race in MotoGP which was also the season finale and the title decider to make it even more special. The Japanese manufacturer got the best gift, thanks to Alex Rins who was going to join LCR Honda for the 2023 season. After the Valencia GP, a MotoGP test was planned on the Tuesday after the race where the riders got to get their hands on the 2023 machinery.
Alex Rins was among the riders who went on to test new machinery. The Ex- Suzuki rider rode the RC213V as he completed his first day with LCR Honda at the MotoGP test in Valencia. After a drama filled 6 seasons with one Japanese team, Rins has successfully made the switch to another team who also have their Japanese roots intact. Speaking to the championship’s official website, here is what the rider had to say about his first day with Honda.

The newly hired LCR Honda rider had this to say about his outing on the team’s 2023 bike. “Honestly I’m very happy because we did a lot of laps – we did 90 laps, it wasn’t bad. And that’s it. I’m very happy with this test, now we’re going on holiday. We will try to enjoy, we will try to enjoy the good result we got on Sunday. And that’s it, I’m excited,” he said.
When asked about what his goals were for these MotoGP tests, Alex Rins went on to state this. ‘The goal was to try to adapt to everything that was new, and I think we did that.
After 6 full seasons with Suzuki, it will be a slight change of environment for the rider. Rins was seen crying on the grid and hugging team members just before the last race in Valencia. Well currently the Ex-Suzuki rider seems to have adjusted well with his new team ahead of the winter period. With Rins joining LCR Honda, his Suzuki teammate, Joan Mir will be partnering Marc Marquez at Repsol Honda for 2023.
