In the last few years, Fabio Quartararo and Yamaha have seriously boiled down when it comes to their pace compared to the likes of Ducati. The main issue seems to be the bikes and their lack of progress when it comes to the development race between the Europeans and Japanese. Ever since the start of 2022, Honda and Yamaha have been on the back foot.
With the British MotoGP race weekend taking place right now, Fabio Quartararo qualifying last for the Sprint race was a good enough testament showcase how bad the situation is. From winning the championship in 2021 to fighting at the back, a lot has changed for Fabio and the blame is mostly on the machinery that he’s been using so far. Franco Morbidelli changing that with a charge to 15th at the checkered flag. Fabio Quartararo on the other hand was only able to manage 21st which was a sad sight as the Frenchman has a lot of potential.
Fabio Quartararo even went on to say that his 2023 season is worse than his Moto2 years in 2017 and 2018. Currently, Pecco Bagnaia and Ducati are on a whole new level. However, Alex Marquez stunned the crowd by taking victory at the Sprint race while Bagnaia was only able to manage 14th. The Italian rider still has a huge advantage in the championship standings to it will be interesting to see what happens during Sunday’s race.
