Franco Morbidelli and Alex Rins

Alex Rins has made quite a name for himself in MotoGP. Having been a decorated rider, his latest decision have shocked the whole paddock. The Spanish rider will be leaving LCR Honda at the end of the season. This came as a surprise to many as he only competed with the team for one season. Alex has signed with Yamaha’s factory team to race with them in 2024.

Yamaha managing director Lin Jarvis had been handling the whole situation. Alex Rins’s latest MotoGP movie means that Franco Morbidelli will now be out of a seat.  Franco is partnered up with world champion Fabio Quartararo for this season. While the team is still struggling to get back to the top, it seems clear that replacing  Rins with Franco had to do something with Lin planning for the future.

Here is what he had to say regarding the whole situation. “It was the team’s decision to make a change,” he said. “In my personal feeling, that is something that the team didn’t have to do, but decided to do. I think it could play out well for both parties,” he said. “If you’re not able to extract the level of performance as a rider, sometimes changing the scene can be good for the rider as well as the team.” he continued

Fabio Quartararo has given a warning to Yamaha regarding his career ahead of the Misano MotoGP test which is less than a month away. The Frenchman has been promised results for a long time but hasn’t gotten any yet leading to frustration. However, he is ready to give them a second chance as its the team that brought him to MotoGP. Yamaha’s main issue has been their top speed compared to the European manufacturers.

On the other hand, when it comes to the second seat at Yamaha, Jorge Martin and Marco Bezzecchi were linked to it but ultimately the Japanese manufacturer confirmed Alex Rins as their rider. Meanwhile, there is a high probability that Fabio Quartararo might also leave the team at the end of the season. It will be interesting to see how things go for the two parties at the Misano MotoGP test.
