Manuwa allegedly assaultyed Rakic backtsage at UFC London
Jimi Manuwa still of Aleksandar Rakic delivering the brutal head kick that knocked him straight into retirement. However, that certainly doesn’t mean he’s over the whole incident. Recently at the UFC London event, old rivalries were reignited when the two crossed paths.
Manuwa who is an English native, was at the fight to support his fellow countrymen. However, he chose to throw his hands when one of his former opponents crossed his paths. At 42 and 3 years removed from retirement, this might not be the best move for the UFC Vet.
Manuwa was brutally knocked out by Rakic when the two faced off in 2019. Since then Rakic’s career has been straight to the top, while Manuwa was left to contemplate where his career would go now after 4 straight loses, 3 via KOs.Manuwa held bitter feelings about the knockout and threw vague hints at Rakic that he may fight him on sight, in some of his tweets. At UFC London, it actually happened.

Aleksandar Rakic alleges Jimi Manuwa “sucker punched” him at UFC London
Rakic would be the first to break the news as he posted a video on all his socials calling out Manuwa for his cowardice. He said, “Guys I’ll just let you know as I was being escorted out of the building by the UFC security to my hotel room and Mr. Still Sleep was sitting at the end of my row, so I had to pass him by , so as I was passing by he said something to me and I didn’t really pay attention, I don’t really care about the guy, for me it’s over, so as I turn away, he sucker punched me”
prefacing it all by calling Manuwa a “Piece of Sh*t” and the entire attack as a “Pu**y move”
Rakic states that due to being in close range, Manuwa missed with his punch and only managed to hit Rakic’s neck, with his forearm before security separated them. Rakic then questioned Manuwa about his decision to sucker punch a man who was by himself in the city and just had major knee surgery 9 weeks ago. “I’m gonna stay in your head forever, I retired you, I knocked you out and the world saw that, so happy retirement, Mr Sleep,” said Rakic as he closed his message.
Manuwa posted a response to the Austrian fighter on his Twitter saying, “The fight is the fight and we all win and lose which is part of it. When u try to talk shit months after the fight on Twitter like every one of the keyboard warriors I promised you I will slap you when I see you. I saw you last night, how dare u think I wouldn’t.”
Rakic would respond with his own tweet saying, “Where was the energy when I was in front of you? You had to wait until I had my back to you and you still didn’t manage to do the job.Talking about energy. As I said, happy retirement ” putting an end to the dispute.
Aleksandar Rakic is still recovering from the knee injury he suffered during his fight against Jan Blachowicz in a title eliminator.
