MS Dhoni begins new innings: Former Indian captain starts a film production company

Just over a month after announcing his retirement from international cricket, former Indian cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni has decided to begin a new innings in his life. He has launched his own film/TV production company ‘Dhoni Entertainment Pvt. Ltd.’. MS Dhoni’s wife and managing director of the company Sakshi Singh Dhoni broke the news on her Twitter handle captioning it, ‘We ll need your love and blessings'(sic).

Talking to ‘mid-day’, Sakshi Dhoni said, “We have acquired the rights of an unpublished book by a debutant author. We will adapt it into a web-series. It is a mythical sci-fi story that explores the journey of a mysterious Aghori and is set at a high-tech facility on a remote island.” The cricketer’s wife further said that the adventure drama series will explore the genre of magical realism. She announced that the cast and the director for the series would be finalized and revealed soon.

Sakshi explained that she herself will be handling the day-to-day activities of the production company and that Dhoni will be partially involved. “We aim to give a platform to deserving talent to showcase their skills along with providing fresh and original content to the audience. Our aim is to produce good stories from the heart“, Sakshi said.
