The Philadelphia Eagles played the Arizona Cardinals in their week 17 game on Sunday. Both these teams are on the opposite end of the NFL spectrum this season. The Eagles are one of the best teams in the league and are the defending NFC Champions. The Cardinals, on the other hand, have been one of the worst teams in the league and are nowhere near the playoff picture.
Eagles were expected to take care of the Cardinals with relative ease, but they suffered a shocking defeat. The game was close but the Cardinals won it on a last-minute touchdown by Cardinals’ RB James Conner. This Eagles loss and the San Francisco 49ers‘ win against the Washington Commanders meant that the Niners have locked up the top seed of the conference.
The Eagles had a chance to win the game, but a failed Hail Mary in the dying moments ended the game in favor of the Cardinals, 35-31. Eagles and their divisional rivals, the Dallas Cowboys have a similar record and the winner of that division will be decided on the final game of the season. The Philadelphia-based team entered the fourth quarter with a 7-point lead but failed to hold onto it.
Eagles will take on the New York Giants away from home in their final game of the regular season. The Cowboys will visit Washington to play the Washington Commanders. It will be a fascinating final week of the season.
Fans roast the Philadelphia Eagles for dropping their game against the Arizona Cardinals
The Philadelphia Eagles lost their week 17 matchup in shocking fashion against the Arizona Cardinals. The Cardinals came into the game with a record of 3-12 and have been one of the worst teams in the league. Eagles on the other hand had a record of 11-4 before the game.
It was a shocking loss and as a result of that, the Eagles are officially out of the conference’s top seed race. The San Francisco 49ers’ win over the Washington Commanders confirmed them as the NFC’s best team. Fans roasted the Eagles for their poor loss. Here are some of the reactions.
The Eagles will now play the New York Giants in their next game. They have already played each other once before this season, in week 15. The Eagles won that game 33-25. They will hope to do so again next Sunday.
