The Pittsburgh Steelers recorded their first season loss against the Indianapolis Colts on Saturday at a close 27-25. Despite the three consecutive victories, fans didn’t spare quarterback Justin Fields, subjecting him to scrutiny after the game, which compelled his teammate Najee Harris to speak up.

Despite recording 314 yards and a touchdown along with 55 rushing yards and 10 attempts for two touchdowns, Fields’ performance on Saturday was described as “too sloppy” by head coach Mike Tomlin. However, when Harris was asked about the starting quarterback’s performance, particularly in the second half of the game, he responded bluntly to the reporters.

You always keep putting it on one person. It’s a whole team, all 11 of us. Stop making it one player. You all keep saying Justin, if like he’s the one that is throwing, catching, and running. Come on bro, it’s all of us. So what did we do, what did we see? I saw us all fight. Us as a team.

Najee Harris said

Even though the Steelers lost, they had a tough contest with the Colts by outsourcing their 21-10 lead in the second half. However, making the plays that actually outscored on the board took more time than Fields’ offense had thought, and they fell short by two points.

Justin Fields receives praise from former Steelers HC Rex Ryan

The former Chicago Bears quarterback might have been “too sloppy” in the eyes of his current head coach, he received high appreciation from the Steelers’ former head coach Rex Ryan, who just like Ben Roethlisberger, believes Fields should be the Steelers’ franchise quarterback

This might go down as one of the greatest trades in the history of the National Football League. They got him for a sixth-round pick. You got a future franchise quarterback for a sixth-round pick.

The Steelers’ initial plan was to make veteran Russell Wilson the starting quarterback but after he sustained a calf injury, Fields got his chance to shine, and he indeed didn’t let it go to waste.

His position as the starting quarterback remains as strong, despite the Saturday loss, as the team is now preparing to face off against the Dallas Cowboys the next Monday.
