The Philadelphia Eagles fall to a 2-2 record on the season after losing 33-16 to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The most stacked team in terms of talent in the NFC East has been disappointing, to say the least. The Eagles were down 24-7 at halftime but managed to put up some points in the second half.
It was still not enough to stop Baker Mayfield, who continued to make play after play, and ended up with 347 yards with 2 touchdowns and 0 interceptions. Jalen Hurts threw for 158 yards and a touchdown, while Saquon Barkley was unable to find his way into the endzone.
Based on the plays that Philadelphia was running all night long, the common consensus that fans arrived at was head coach Nick Sirianni deserved the blame for the team’s struggles.
Granted Philly did not have A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith on offense, these can pass as valid reasons for the offense coming up short. But there were questionable special teams’ plays made and just outright bad defensive play calls that widened the point differential between Philly and Tampa.
Fans lambaste Nick Sirianni for ruining the Eagles’ odds of making it back to the Super Bowl
At times, the Eagles looked unmotivated and unprepared. There were errors in execution that cost them deeply. In the wake of the Eagles’ continued struggles, the reports regarding a locker room rift between Sirianni and his players in the second half of the 2023 season seem to have carried over to this year.
Quarterback Jalen Hurts’ response to a question regarding whether he intends to have a conversation with Nick Sirianni on how to handle business heading into the second half of the season further escalated speculations of a strained relationship between the two. “We have our moments,” was Hurts’ response. The quarterback did not say anything else.
Fans are convinced that if Nick Sirianni continues his ‘bad’ coaching, then he will be fired by the Philadelphia Eagles at the end of the season. Here are some of the responses to Sirianni’s 3-10 record in the last 13 games via X:

At this point, the Eagles should seriously consider if Nick Sirianni is the direction they intend to keep going with. Howie Roseman is a risk-taker and jumps when a lucrative opportunity presents itself. If Sirianni will be let go, then there is a possibility that Roseman’s first call would be to Bill Belichick.
