Naomi Osaka is enjoying some well earned break post her Miami Open 2021 exit. She was shocked and bageled in the first set in the Quarter-Final by Greek Maria Sakkari 6-0,6-4.
Earlier, the Japanese tennis sensation won her fourth Grand Slam this year. Previously she has won the US Open twice in 2018 and 2021, and also the Australian Open in 2019. Currently she is ranked no.2 in the world, and is targetting to reclaim her No. 1 spot.
Apart from her tennis, Naomi has always been outspoken about social matters. She uses her off time well on social media to spread awareness about various social activities and injustice around the world.
In her time away from tennis, Naomi Osaka steps in the art field
Naomi Osaka hasn’t played since her Miami Open quarterfinal loss two weeks ago, but her off-court game remains on point. She collaborated with her sister, Mari Osaka to create awareness using art.
“As lovers, creators, and curators of art, Mari & I are very excited to enter the world of art through NFTs. We wanted to do something diff & more personal, so I asked my sister to create these pieces with me,” Naomi tweeted.
She added: “We’ve partnered up again with @BasicdotSpace to share our work while significantly reducing the carbon footprint of NFTs by building on the Flow blockchain. The auction is open now and ends on 4/23!”
Naomi Osaka withdrew her name from Stuttgart and will begin her Clay season from Madrid.
