Denny Hamlin has announced that he has agreed to a deal with Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s Dirty Mo Media that will see him host a podcast under the banner of the media house. The Joe Gibbs Racing veteran will share the unique perspective of an active driver and team owner in the Cup series. Hamlin’s outspoken nature offers more to the audience than another driver with a similar resume.

Hamlin’s podcast is named “Actions Detrimental with Denny Hamlin,” and the show’s first episode will be aired on February 6th. It’s not just the outspokenness of Hamlin that makes the show marketable, the 23XI Racing co-owner isn’t the most liked man on the grid. On the contrary, he is one of the most disliked characters in the NASCAR community, which adds a different dimension to it.

The announcement worries NASCAR as Hamlin now has one of the biggest NASCAR platforms to voice opinions that few want to express regarding the sport and how it is handled. Hamlin now risks sanctions and fines from the premier stock car racing body as some of his opinions might not sit well with the sports hierarchy. Dale Jr. understood this situation and said he would defend his partner at any cost.

I think that no matter what kind of troubles the guys get themselves into, I have no problem sitting down in the room with anybody that wants to talk to them. Whether it’s NASCAR or anybody,” Earnhardt said in his latest podcast.

According to Dale Earnhardt Jr, Denny Hamlin will take a more cautious approach in his podcast.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. pointed out that he expects Hamlin to take a calculated approach while sharing his opinion and pointed out that he might not discuss the controversies that enrage NASCAR officials like in the Door Bumper Clear podcast.

I don’t think that Denny is ever going to get into some of the controversies or challenges we see with Door Bumper Clear from time to time. Denny will be a lot more measured and less by the seat of his pants I think. He’s definitely going to be more calculated,” Dale Jr. said.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. earlier pointed out that his show is a necessary evil for NASCAR. It is important to give different opinions and viewpoints on a platform so that there will be a meaningful conversation about it.

I’ve had a couple of conversations with some execs at NASCAR, and while they may not love everything that happens in the media or happens on our podcasts, it’s sort of this necessary thing to have shown out there, have chatter, have conversation, different opinions, different viewpoints. I think Door Bumper Clear is a great example of that,” Dale Jr. added.
