The 2024 NASCAR Cup season finale saw history in making with Joey Logano winning his third championship and marking his name among the grates of the sport. He and the No:22 peaked at the right time, as they always do in the post season, to secure the title beating his teammate, Ryan Blaney.
Luck has been a significant factor in the No:22 teams win, as they were almost eliminated in the R-12 after a poor streak of runs. They got into the R-8 after Alex Bowman was disqualified after his car was found to be underweight at Roval. During the championship awards, Bowman talked to the media about the Joey Logano win and shared his feelings.
Alex Bowman said it wasn’t weird to see Joey Logano win the title after Bowman’s DQ at Charlotte allowed Logano to advance to the Round of 8. Bowman: “We gave them an opportunity and they capitalized on it. Congrats to them. They did a great job.” pic.twitter.com/3rBeHyfBXa

He admitted that Logano hasn’t texted him thanking for the opportunity and went on congratulate the team for taking advantage when the ball was on their court. Bowman admitted that his teams mistake did help the No:22 team and they did a great job, using the opportunity and deserves the credit for it.
Alex Bowman is disappointed with HMS not winning the title
Despite the Roval DQ, Alex Bowman was expecting a happy end to the season with one of his three teammates winning the title. But his dreams were shattered as only William Byron made it into the season finale and he wasn’t fast enough on the final race to match the Penske Fords.
The mistake from Alex Bowman’s team changed the 2024 season, but it was more of the impressive performance of Joey Logano’s team that earned them the title. Going into the 2025 season Bowman will be determined to make sure he doesn’t make the same mistakes again and will get the better out of himself.
