The NASCAR Cup Series race on Sunday at Martinsville witnessed some wild moments, but the worst one of them was the clash involving Bubba Wallace and Carson Hocevar. On Lap 324 of the race, in a misguided attempt at revenge, the No:23 Toyota driver bulldozed the No:77 Chevy on the corner, resulting in a multi-car pileup.
Talking to Jamie Little of FOX Sports after the incident, the Toyota Camry driver admitted his mistake. He pointed out that he misjudged the centre of the corner and asserted that his plan was to only hit the Spire Motorsports driver, not to turn him.
I misjudged. I didn’t appreciate the three-wide into [Turn] 1, fine, but I misjudged the center of the corner and didn’t mean to turn him.

Carson Hocevar’s crew was furious at Bubba Wallace for the mistake that ruined the momentum of all the drivers involved in the incident. On team radio they declared Michael Jordan’s driver lost his mind, before urging their driver to focus on the rest of race.
Spire Crew: Bubba Wallace lost his mind…focus back on the mission.
Carson Hocevar: Yeah, all good.
No:77 team radio.
Karma was real for Bubba Wallace thought in that moment, as he had to retire after the incident and it cost him valuable 20+ points as well as dragging him down in the points table from P2 to P11. Talking about this, the veteran admitted that he hates how everything played out for him and shared the frustration of the whole No:23 crew.
What a frustrating day/ With so much expectation coming here, favorite track, Hardee’s on the car. Just wasn’t the day we wanted. We really have to figure out what it is this place. We can win Saturday in practice, but we just don’t show up on Sunday. So, I hate it for our team. Just frustration. Take a week off and reset and go onto Bristol.
Bubba Wallace added.
Kevin Harvick calls out Bubba Wallace over the Carson Hocevar wreck
Many NASCAR insiders have called out Bubba Wallace for the mistake, with 2014 champion Kevin Harvick being one of them. He slammed the 23XI driver during the broadcast, highlighting how it was a moment of frustration boiling over for the team.

Yeah, and Bubba’s had a tough day. I’m telling you what, there’s got to be more to that story. Because that right there… I mean Bubba Wallace just drove flat through the 77 car, so I would assume there was something that happened before that for that type of aggression. He was mad.
Kevin Harvick said on Fox Sports broadcast.
The aggression has caused Bubba Wallace a lot of points as well as momentum he has built so far. He works hard behind the scenes during the easter break and get himself ready to fight for win in the upcoming race week at Bristol.
