The NASCAR Cup Series race on Sunday was saw Bubba Wallace doing everything he could defeat his team and still come short, as Ryan Blaney secured back-to-back race wins at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. A mistake less run in the final laps helped the No:12 Ford Mustang driver to secure his third win of the season over the No:23 who is still searching for a break.
Wallace really had a challenging day on Sunday, with the car being not as good as the team expected it to be. But he was able to extract elite pace from it, even when rivals struggled with the weather. Talking about it, he highlighted that it’s surprising that he secured one his best runs in one of his worst cars of the season.
That’s the thing I kind of hate about this place. The last time we ran good was one of the worst-driving cars and I finished third. [This was] the worst driving car we had this year and I finished second.
Bubba Wallace said post-race.
Further talking about the point, the veteran racer highlighted the challenges he faced with the right front rear tire of his No:23 Toyota Camry. Bubba Wallace taking the fight to Ryan Blaney despite the challenge and strengthening his position in the table makes it an overall positive day for him.
I’ve just been saying it all week long. And I think I finally know [to] throw out the field that I’m chasing, which is hard to do as a race car driver. Searching for that right-front [tire], It’s never really there. But we fought, man.

One group that deserves the most credit for the No:23 drivers run on Sunday was his crew. He talked about them backing him in tough times and even in moments where he held them back, pushing him to always produce his absolute best. The veteran appreciates the crew for the support.
I had a nice day by myself, just regrouping. Got the head right and knew I had to fight all day. That’s what it takes, and where it starts is with these people on this No. 23 team. They push me to be the absolute best. And I fail them a lot, but they stick behind me and it’s super cool. I appreciate that.
Bubba Wallace asserted.
Bubba Wallace explains what cost him the race win
Later in the same conversation, the veteran detailed one key issue that cost him the Cup race win on Sunday against Blaney. He pointed out that a big vibration on his left-front tire made their season go south and they had to salvage what they could.

Picked up a big vibration on the left-front and that was kind of it. Didn’t need to make our great day go to crap, just salvaged what we had.
Bubba Wallace said.
The comments from the veteran racer shows how the final result has been positive as well as disappointing for him. It would be interesting to see if Wallace can produce another strong run next week at Daytona and secure his spot in the last-16 for the chase.
