The 2024 NASCAR Cup season has been a roller coaster ride for Bubba Wallace and the 23XI Racing team. The start of the season was good or the team before they started expecting recurring small stints of poor finishes. But they have got back to performing on the high level with consistent finishes from both Wallace and Tyler Reddick, who is now a regular season championship contender.
Bubba Wallace currently sit P15 in the championship table, if the stage one result from the rain postponed Michigan race isn’t considered. He has to continue performing on the high level as he has been the last few weeks and should look to secure more points or a win in the remaining events. Till then they won’t feel safe about his chances.
Wallace admitted that same in a media session before the Richmond race last week. He pointed out that he has four more races left in the season to prove his worth and until he does it, he doesn’t feel safe. The Toyota driver is determined to use these opportunities to his advantage and secure his spot in the playoffs.
Definitely don’t feel safe until you’re locked in. We have four very good opportunities to do that. Ran really well here in the spring. … four real good opportunities to make some headway but you know, also four good opportunities to take us out of contention so have to show up and it’s time to put it back into gear.Bubba Wallace said via NASCAR.com.
Ross Chastain explains his racing approach with playoff spot on the line
Trackhosue Racing’s Ross Chastain is the prominent contender against Bubba Wallace in the playoff race. The No:1 Chevy driver is having an evolving training schedule every week to be successful, and secure enough points to secure his spot.

Approach for me is a constant evolution. Really no two weeks are ever the same. If I find something that’s going to help me better physically, then I do it. My weeks and my preparation are really never the same.

Alongside the duo, Martin Truex Jr., Chris Buescher and Ty Gibbs are in the playoff bubble and are proven race winners. It would be interesting to see how the whole playoff bubble will playout in the final three races.
