Carson Hocevar went wild at the Atlanta race weekend. Hocevar suffered from multiple disappointments throughout the race, but managed it well at the end to achieve a P4 finish. However, in the process, he collided with Joey Logano and ruined the latter’s race. Now, the Spire Motorsports star humbly apologizes to Logano and shares a hilarious reaction.

Notably, Carson Hocevar‘s Cup Series weekend was off to a rocky start as he started the race from P15. Subsequently, a flat tire caused him to dwindle desperately in the pecking order. To add salt to his wounds, he missed the pit entry and had to limp around the track for one additional lap. This further ruined his running initially.

At around Lap 238 on Sunday, Joey Logano turned into Carson Hocevar and lost control of the car. This crash saw the Penske star falling down to P27, where he recovered well and finished in P18. Now, Hocevar shows class and takes the blame for the crash involving Logano despite not being fully at fault. The Spire Motorsport star recalled the incident and how he caused the #22 driver to turn on track.

Further, Carson Hocevar accepted that he made excuses in the heat of the moment, but he definitely was at fault. He continued that he was checking his rear-view mirrors when the accident happened, and he clearly miscalculated the gap to the front. Hocevar ended his apology by joking that he owed Joey Logano a gift card after ending his winning chances in Atlanta.

I turned Joey, I didn’t mean to do that. He got stuck in dirty air? It’s my racing excuses like it wasn’t my fault but it definitely was. I was just looking in the mirror the whole time and thought I calculated my gap out front. I just missed it by an inch or two and I owe him a gift card.

Hocevar applauded Spire Motorsport’s car, which was capable of going from two laps down to stage points over the session. The #77 driver admitted that every driver wanted a better finish and thus were going for any space possible on the track.

Our car is really fast to go from two laps down to get stage points, so then finish fourth. It’s good points for us. Yeah. I mean I was taking every run. I don’t know, I’m sure, apologies, but I think we’re all going for spaces and runs and everything. And yeah, luckily you know, all four tires were straight, my toe was knocked out, but it still was pretty fast and you know, able to finish fourth there.

Carson Hocevar said in a post-race interview.

The 2026 season has been amazing for Carson Hocevar so far. After a runner-up finish in the Truck Series, Hocevar achieved a P4 finish in the Cup Race.
