For the first time since 2016, an active NASCAR driver will be making Indy 500 start this month at the Brickyard. 2021 Cup champion Kyle Larson is set to drive for Arrow McLaren in the iconic race and will be the first driver since Kurt Busch to do so. The Hendrick Motorsports garage is looking forward to see their driver potentially competing for the win.

While talking about the Indy 500 appearance of Kyle Larson, his teammate Chase Elliott admitted that he is excited and looking forward to seeing the race. Alongside cheering for his teammate, watching the Indy 500 will help the drivers to get over the anxieties about the Coke 600 they are set to tackle on Sunday.

Like most people, I'm excited to watch, and I hope that my day is semi light at the 600 so that I can kind of watch some of the race and see how it goes.
Chase Elliott said.

The 2020 NASCAR Cup champion was asked if he would ever attempt to run the Memorial Day double duty. He left the door open saying he might do it, if everything lines up perfectly.

William Byron highlights Kyle Larson’s prowess ahead of Indy 500 debut

Kyle Larson’s teammate William Byron pointed out that he believes that it’s supercool to see the No:5 Chevy driver race in IndyCar. He highlighted that if there was any driver capable if doing it, it was his teammate.

WIlliam Byron
I think it's super cool. I think if there's anybody to do that, Kyle's the guy right now. I think that he'll do well with it.
Willaim Byron said.

It would be interesting to see how the MS driver would perform at Brickyard considering he would be getting an elite level car from McLaren. If Larson is able to have the same speed as he did during the Indy 500 tests, he can be in contention for win.
