Hendrick Motorsports’ Chase Elliott has been winless for over a year, with his last win coming at Texas, which was the 9th race of 2024. So going into this weekend’s race at Talladega Motor Speedway, where he has won twice in the past, he is determined to score a win to join his teammates William Byron and Kyle Larson in the playoffs.
The special bond Chase Elliott has with the track helps him to cherish every moment he has had in the last 18 Cup racer outing there. It has always been a second home track for him, owing to its proximity with his hometown and he has a passionate fan base there. He appreciates these factors and always enjoys the races.
Yeah, this track has always kind of been, to me, a second home track in a lot of ways, because of the distance. And I feel like the fans here have always been really good to us and good to me. I’ve always recognized that and appreciated that, and it’s one of the reasons why I always look forward to coming here. I’ve always enjoyed coming over here. It’s close to home.

The 2020 Cup champions teammate Kyle Larson also has a special place in his heart for Dega, owing to the fact that it is the best drafting track for he and his team, though the results don’t support this claim. Inspired by the top 5 finish at Atlanta, he is hoping that he and his crew chief can find the best set-up for a good showing.
Talladega is probably the best drafting track for myself and our team, even if the results don’t show it. We were able to get a top five earlier this year at Atlanta (Motor Speedway) so I’m hoping that with Cliff’s strategy we can once again have a good showing.

HMS’ William Byron has a special goal for Talladega
The third HMS driver and the 2025 Daytona 500 winner William Byron is coming into the weekend with the hopes of securing his maiden win there. He has never won a race at this track, while has wins at Atlanta and Daytona. His main goal is coming to the weekend is survive the chaos and produce a good showing at the end, to score a win.

Talladega is the only drafting track I haven’t been able to win at. We’ve been close a lot, especially the last couple races. I think we really have our drafting package in a good place. It would be nice to come back from the break and start it off with a win, but the main goal is to survive and get a good showing in the end.

The No:48 HME driver Alex Bowman is also determined tackle the mental game of Talladega, produce a strong and potentially secure his maiden NASCAR Cup race wins. It would be interesting to see how everything is going to playout for the Chevy giants on Sunday.
