2020 NASCAR Cup Series champion Chase Ellott is a driver who is respected in the garage and among the fans for being a class act. On Saturday at Indianapolis Motor Speedway ahead of the Brickyard 400, he showed why he is regarded the same in a moment involving Joe Gibbs Racing veteran and his close championship rival Denny Hamlin.
As Chase Elliott was walking across the track, he came across a piece of paper that was dropped from one of the 23XI Racing officials. He picked it up as soon as he saw it and went to the 23XI crew who was behind him alongside Denny Hamlin. He handed over the paper to the co-owner of the team before walking off. The No:11 driver later appreciated Elliott for being a stand-up guy.

Man, a stand-up guy. I guess one of the 23XI guys dropped a piece of paper out of their pocket that had some information on it. Handed it to me to give to those guys.Denny Hamlin told NBC.
Chase Elliott didn’t look at the notes once to check out what it is and just handed over to the 23XI boss without thinking twice. He could have just looked at the information to gain an advantage and no one would have blamed him for it, considering he in the fight for regular season championship with Hamlin and 23XI’s Tyler Reddick. But he chose the fairer path and showed his good character.
Chase Elliott lost the Brickyard 400 pole to Tyler Reddick
Unfortunately, Elliott failed to be the best driver during the qualifying as he lost the pole position to none another than 23XI Racing’s Tyler Reddick. The No:45 Toyota driver is cautious about Elliott and other driver that will challenge him for the race win on Sunday.
We know that a lot of the guys that are right there in the points are right there behind us, making overnight adjustments and doing what they need to do. So, we have to be mindful of all the potentials around us tomorrow.Tyler Reddick said.
Chase Elliott is currently leading the regular season championship, but with a tough day of racing left at Brickyard he would have produce a top-5 or be more productive than his rivals on Sunday. Tyler Reddick and Denny Hamlin, alongside the remaining HMS drivers would his biggest challengers.
