The incident brough the worst out if the star drivers on team radio, including 2020 Cup champion Chase Elliott.
The Hendrick Motorsports driver found himself in a duel with Denny Hamlin on the track and was struggling to pass the JGR veteran. He was struggling just like every other driver on Sunday to pass rivals. Chase Elliott’s crew chief, Alan Gustafson, via team radio commented that the No:11 Toyota is really straggling and passing will be easy. He didn’t like the tone of and snapped back at him.
Chase Elliott is told: "The 11 can't even pass the 34th-place car. If you figure out what you need to pass, it's going to be game on."

For Chase Elliott, the day comparably had a better end as he was able to secure P10 finish but lost the regular season championship lead to race winner Kyle Larson. Denny Hamlin on the other hand was involved in a late race wreck and DNfed. He was credited a P32 finish and cost him a lot of points the regular season championship chase.
Chase Elliott race was ruined by new blend-in line rule
For the Brickyard 400’s return, NASCAR introduced a late rule change, which raised some questions as teams didn’t fully understand the change. On Sunday two drivers’ race was ruined because of failing to comply with the new rule.
They were Brad Keselowski and Chase Elliott. They were forced to take a strategic gamble there after to remain in the hunt for the win and unfortunately both couldn’t. The No:9 driver was able get the maximum finish of P10 while Keselowski ran out fuel while leading the race, ending his day.
The HMS driver has four more races left in the regular season to bounce back and get the regular season title. Before that he alongside the whole Cup garage will have the opportunity take the much-required break during the Olympics weekend and get back stronger for the final stage.
