RFK Racing Chris Buescher is flying back home with a broken heart as he finished in the worst place a race could find himself at the end of the event. He finished the race P2, just 0.001 second behind winner Kyle Larson, who secured his second win of the 2024 season with HMS by employing some aggressive moves on the Ford driver.

Till the race was set to overtime due to Kyle Busch’s late spin, Kyle Larson wasn’t the main contender for the victory for Chris Buescher. It was Joe Gibbs Racing’s Denny Hamlin, with whom the No:17 Ford has been losing the lead more often in the race. But on the final restart Hamlin found himself in a bad spot.

Hamlin took the inside lane and Buescher the outside lane on the overtime restart and once the race re-started, the No:5 Chevy of Larson took the lower lane. The JGR driver failed to hold the pace and dropped back to P5 at the end of the race. Buescher, after loosing the race Larson due to an aggressive side bumping, lauded how clean Hamlin was racing him throughout.

As much sh*t (emoji) as you might get Denny Hamlin, you’ve always raced me clean. Great battle today.

To be clear for y’all… no shade at Kyle Larson. We were banging doors all the way to the checkered. He’s one heck of a racer, and that was just two drivers going for the trophy.

If RFK Racing con continue feeling such fast cars the battle between the trio would be regular occurrence. Hamlin and Larson have been having some interesting fights this season and with the right consistency, Buescher can join the elite group.
