The NASCAR Cup garage is at New Hampshire Motor Speedway for the USA Today 301 races. Despite the race being a very significant with nine more events left in the regular season, the racing community is more concerned about the silly-season in full-swing. Joe Gibbs Racing and Martin Truex Jr. are at the centre of these decussations.

Martin Truex Jr. announced his retirement at the end of the 2024 season at Iowa Speedway and tis leaves a sear open at JGR. The No:19 Toyota Camry is one of the most converted seats on the garage. Stewart Haas Racing’s Chase Briscoe was rumored to join the team for 2025, now a misshape from No:20 JGR driver Christopher Bell has confirmed it.

While talking to the media at New Hampshire about his leadership role at JGR, he accidently made the revelation. He was about to say how Chase coming to JGR will change his role before accidently realizing his blunder. Bell paused and smile after the mistake. Though he didn’t fully name drop Briscoe, everyone understood who he was talking about.

I don’t think that there really is a leadership role in that aspect. Whenever Chase comes into the car [pauses and smiles] … I don’t even know what to say. Whenever we have a new driver [in the car].
Christopher Bell said at NHM.

Kyle Larson pokes fun at Chase Elliott after Christopher Bell’s comments

Man, totally blind-sided by this news! Wishing Chase Elliott, the best on his new adventure at Joe Gibbs Racing. Have enjoyed you as a teammate! Good luck.
Kyle Larson posted on X.

Jokes aside, the mistake from Bell might have ruined Joe Gibbs Racing’s plans for making the announcement. But it isn’t as bad as it looks, considering the reports about the Ford driving joining the TRD giants has been there for a long time.
