In a wild commercial featuring Brad Keselowski and Kyle Busch, NASCAR announced that they are adopting championship finale rotation starting from the 2026 season. Next season, Homestead Miami, that has hosted finale in the past, will be the last race venue and another track will get the honor in 2027. The whole NASCAR driver line-up including JGR’s Christopher Bell is over joyed with the decision.

It not a surprise that the Joe Gibbs Racing star Christopher Bell loves the change, as he has lost two championship finals at the current venue, Phoenix Raceway. In his media session at Kansas, he named Vegas, Homestead and Phoenix as the three prominent possible finale venue, alongside Charlotte Motor Speedway, if the weather isn’t bad.

There’s a couple of tracks: Vegas, Homestead, Phoenix being three that certainly make sense to rotate between the championship event. Charlotte would be a great venue. I think you kind of would be rolling the dice with weather there, but maybe a day race in Charlotte would be acceptable.

Christopher Bell said at Kansas.

The TRD driver, like his veteran teammate Denny Hamlin, believes the changes were long overdue. The rotation will introduce the surprise factor and also might help the teams to finally beat Team Penske Racing for the title, as they have won all three Bill France Cup in the seventh gen car era, with dominant finale runs.

I think it’s awesome, though, and I think it should have happened a long time ago, and I’m glad to hear that it’s we’re finally starting a rotation.

Christopher Bell doesn’t get enough credit for his personality

One of the biggest criticisms of the current generation of NASCAR drivers is their lack of personality to become superstars. Bell was considered one of them, before the 2024 edition of NASCAR: Full Speed docu-0series came out, that showed a different and likeable side of the racer.

This alongside his impressive performance on the track has earned him the respect of the fans and the garage. 2014 Champion Kevin Harvick recently talked about Bel’s rise to fame in the recent episode of his podcast, with Fox sports’ Mike Joy. He sees Bell as one of the many youngsters capable of becoming superstars when they mature.

Christopher Bell came in during COVID, 2020. Think about that. He’s had four full-time years. Three of them in a quality car. He started in that (Leavine Family Racing) No. 95 car. That year was difficult, just to be thrown in into the Cup Series. Really, when you look at our Cup Series driver lineup right now, it’s pretty young. I believe the potential of these guys is a lot bigger than most people give credit.

Kevin Harvick said.

The comments from the ex-SHR driver who has raced Bell before retirement in 2023, shows the amount of respect the community has for him. They see a champion in his and it would be interesting to see if he will match these exceptions or have a career like Denny Hamlin, a tale of near misses.
