One of the long standing and fan favorite feuds in NASCAR right now involves two of its brightest young talents, Carson Hocevar and Corey Heim. It started three years ago in the Truck Series where the duo had a historical championship fight that ended them wrecking each other brutally in the finale, costing each other a career milestone.
The beef cooled down in 2025, with Hocevar getting a Cup promotion while Heim remained in the third division. But they are back at going at each other again in the Cup, with the latter having an extended Cup schedule with 23XI Racing ahead of his full-time debut in 2027, already winning two races.
They had multiple run-ins already each other despite racing in just handful of races together and the TRD driver admitted that he genuinely doesn’t like the Chevy driver as a race car driver as their headline making beef is as authentic as it gets. But the positive thing about the beef is the fact that he doesn’t hate Hocevar as a person.
It definitely makes headlines, and it’s genuine. It’s not a dislike for him as a person, but it’s a dislike for him as a driver.
Corey Heim said about Hocevar.
The TRD driver is happy with the fact that the fans enjoy the beef with himself and Carson Hocevar. Their duel on the track often happens naturally and that is good for the fans as well as the sport, as it helps to create a better narrative to follow as well as offer more entertainment value.
So, I’m glad that people enjoy it. I’m just jind of our there doing my job and it all seems to fall into the place the way it does. I don’t really know how to describe it … But I think it’s good for the fans. I don’t want to get carried away with it or anything, but at the same time I definitely get the entertainment value of it.

Corey Heim shares his thoughts on 23XI Racing’s unique racing schedule for him
In the same interview, Corey Heim talked about his part-time schedule in 2026 that saw him races in the Cup and Trucks, winning races in both places. It helps him to develop as a racer as 23XI Racing has scheduled it perfectly for him.

It kind of goes both ways. It definitely helps give me some time to debrief on races and then prepare for the next one. When I have two weeks in between races, it’s easier to do both of those things.
Corey Heim said.
Further talking about the point, the youngster pointed out that he is growing as a racer every time he steps into a Cup car. He gets to drive fast cars with less pressure of expectations on his shoulders with the current schedule.
When it comes to raw seat time, that’s really hard to beat. And the guys that get that experience each and every week definitely learn from it and gain a lot of it.
Corey Heim added.
The part-time run would do a world of good for the star driver in the 2027 season, when he will make his full-time debut. It would be interesting to see how everything is going to playout for him in his reaming races of the 2026 season.
