The drama between NASCAR veterans Kyle Busch and Corey LaJoie doesn’t seem to be ending anytime soon. It all started at Pocono last Sunday when the Spire Motorsports driver wrecked the Richard Childress Racing driver with just around 40 laps left, during the restart, which led to him taking out around eight cars out of the race.

Corey LaJoei was quick to come out defending himself and shifting the blame on Kyle Busch for the incident. The two times Cup champion waited till Thursday to share his true feeling about the incident. In his appearance in the Pat McAfee Show, he branded LaJoie as a liar for changing his story promised payback.

Now the Spire driver has responded to the comments from the veteran. He pointed out that calling him a liar in the biggest talk show of the country really pissed him off. LaJoie also asserted that Busch should have given him a fair chance to explain his side of the story by responding to his calls and texts.

He should at least answer a text or a phone call after I’ve tried to tell him my story. I understand he has every right to be mad, but for him to go on the biggest talk show in the country and call me a liar, it pisses me off.
Corey LaJoei said at Indy.

Corey LaJoei insists the crash wasn’t intentional

While talking about the incident earlier, the No:7 Chevy driver asserted that his clash with Busch was never intentional. He asserted that when he looked at the replay of the crash, he understood that it was not intentional just like his crew chief told him during the race.

The moral of the story at Pocono was I crashed him bigger than s—, but it wasn’t intentional. The original story that I saw out of the windshield and was told from (crew chief Ryan) Sparks was my perception. After I got a chance to look at the replay and saw the in-car cameras, I saw what happened — but it never was intentional in the first place and that remains the case.
Corey LaJoei said.

The Chevy driver would be hoping that he could survive without any major setbacks if Kyle Busch takes revenge for the wreck in the coming races. It would be interesting to see how Busch would approach duels with LaJoie from now on.
