The NASCAR Cup Series race at Pocono Raceway lacked much drama compared to the races in the last few weeks before, as Team Penske Racing’s defending champion Ryan Blaney beat Denny Hamlin to secure his second win of the season. But the race did feature a major wreck with just 40 laps left in the race.
On the restart of lap 120 of the Great American Gateway 400, Corey LeJoie of Spire Motorsports made contact with Richard Childress Racing’s Kyle Busch and spin him out. The No:7 Chevy hooked the No:8 Chevy from the left and send him to the infield grass. The RCR car came back into the track after sliding through the green.

Kyle Busch went onto collect multiple cars and caused an incident that involved eight cars ruining all of their races. The incident collected the likes of Harrison Burton, AJ Allmendinger and Ricky Stenhouse Jr. were the drivers involved in this unfortunate incident. Busch ended up DNFing alongside these drivers with finished outside the top-30 credited to them.
The incident proves the poor form of RCR and the bad luck that has been following Kyle Busch from the start of the season. This race marked the 42nd consecutive winless race of his career and has put him in massive disadvantage in the playoff chase. He now has no option but to win a race to make into the last-16.
Kyle Busch had bland response after the race over the incident
The two times Cup champion seemed really upset after the race result and gave a pretty bland response to the media after getting released from the infield care centre. He thanked all his sponsors and partners for the support as well as his fans, but decided to not speak anything about the incident.

Nah, I just want to thank all of our partners and everybody that’s been behind our program at RCR, ECR Engines, obviously Zone nicotine pouches and Cheddar’s, Lucas Oil, everybody for their support and continuing to back us and be behind us, and of course the fans and Rowdy Nation as well, too.Kyle Busch said via NBC.
The incident just shows how Kyle Busch has been finding himself in poor situation since eth start of the 2024 season because of RCR’s failure give him a car capable of running inside the top-10. As long as RCR doesn’t get their car right, things would only get worse for Busch this season
