Joe Gibbs Racing’s Christopher Bell is a man of few words and isn’t someone that is known for speaking out his mind consistently. But when it comes to matters that affect the sports’ future, he has never heisted to be the bold voice of reason. The ex-Truck Series champion made some comments ahead of Texas race that got the attention of Dale Earnhardt Jr. and the whole garage.

The Toyota driver called out the sport over not fixing the Next-Gen ear superspeedway racing that has become boring fuel saving spectacle. He pointed out that the current Superspeedway race car package needs immediate change, as it has become a lottery race. The TRD driver was blunt, the racing is just a joke right now in the iconic venues such as Talladega and Daytona.

We desperately need change. We’ve needed change for a long time, so hopefully, that is the last time we race that speedway package, and I think a lot of us in the industry will be very excited about that…It’s literally a lottery race. It’s atrocious. Now, the strategy is so spelled out that it becomes all about fuel saving…It’s a joke. It’s a complete joke, and I look forward to changes.

Talking about the comments from Christopher Bell on the Dale Jr. Download podcast, Hall of Famer Dale Eramhardt Jr. pointed out that he loves that opinion and asserted that it is something they agrees with. Junor also highlighted how the champion driver is really hopeful about the off-season test for the new plate race package.

I believe he went on to say that he’s excited about the testing that’s coming up in the offseason. He’s hoping that’s going to bear some fruit… I love this. I love people are saying this, because I agree.

Further talking about the point on the podcast, the veteran who has won the iconic Daytona 500 twice, pointed out that he has been disappointed with the Superspeedway race product in the recent years. He can feels how frustrated the drivers are during the races, owing to their inability to take advantage of the car.

I have not liked the Next Gen car at Daytona and Talladega. Don’t like it. I watch the guys race and I can see how frustrated they are with their inability to make a difference.

The veteran pointed out that NASCAR knows how to fix the issues with the Next-Gen car superspeedway package and he is hopeful about the upcoming tests. He also called the garage to come together and demand changes from the sport.

NASCAR has this information and they know it, and they’re going to go test and they’re going to try to figure this out. I applaud them for their efforts. I’m hopeful and I’m pulling for NASCAR. I’m pulling for all the drivers to rally around the idea of trying to get this right.
