Carson Hocevar is the problem child and a future superstar of NASCAR at the same time. The 22-year-old is known for his superior raw pace and over aggressive racing style, has found himself in beefs with multiple drivers in 2025 season. Now at Nashville he added another veteran to the long list of his enemies with Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and Hall of Famer Dale Earnhardt Jr. has huge concerns about the youngster.

The Spire Motorsports No:77 Chevy drivers wrecked Hyak Motorsports’ Ricky Stenhouse Jr. on lap 106 of the race, despite having the chance to avoid any incident. The incident ruined the No:47 Chevy’s day while Carson Hocevar went onto finish the race at P2, scoring 39 points. The incidents didn’t impress Dale Earnhardt Jr., who was calling the race for Prime, and he called him out.

Junior pointed out that the post-race comments from Hocevar on the incident showed Hocevar didn’t understand it was his mistake that caused the incident. Despite being a big fan of the youngster, he believes that 2024 Rookie of the Year award winner should have given space to Stenhouse and be less aggressive.

Well, I hear a guy that doesn’t know that he ran into the back of somebody and wrecked them. Hey, I’ll call it like it is. I like Hocevar a lot. Kid’s awesome. Ran second tonight. I like his attitude, I like his personality, and I like his style. But yeah, I think he could have cut the 47 a break, and he chose not to do that.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. said on Prime broadcast.

Further talking on the topic, Dale Jr. pointed out that Hocevar is someone who races with an unapologetic attitude and this makes him a divisive figure among fans, especially when he has beef with fan favourite drivers. Just like many NASCAR fans, the JR Motorsports co-owner is looking forward to how the beef is going to evolve.

That’s his way that he wants to race. He’s not very apologetic about it. A lot of people are going to love that. A lot of people are going to love how he races and how he does his job. From what I saw tonight, I think he probably could have gave Ricky an opportunity there and continued to race. And he’ll have to hear that side from Ricky, and it will be interesting to see how that plays out.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. advice Carson Hocevar to pick and choose his enemies

During the same conversation, Junior gave some advice to Carson Hocevar regarding picking his enemies. He pointed out that the youngster might miss out on the support from the fans, if they don’t pick the right drivers to have battles with. If he always fights the fan favorites, he might end up like Joey Logano or Denny Hamlin.

I like what I see out of Hocevar. As a fan and a broadcaster, it is entertaining. I just don’t like it when he wrecks the good guy, you know? I know Stenhouse has had his issues, too, but you kinda gotta pick and choose who your enemies are, and you can’t just kind of blanket the garage, right?

Dale Earnhardt said.

The comments from Junior shows that Carson Hocevar has recently had some run-ins that might affect him negatively. But considering the personality of the Spire Chevy driver, there is a very less chances of him listening to Junior and will battles every single one of rivals the same way, aggressive racing.
