The 2025 NASCAR Cup season so far hasn’t been kind to Trackhouse Racing’s Daniel Suarez who came into the season with redemption as his primary goal. Other than a surprise P2 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, he finished outside the top-10 in all of the nine races so far, that includes three finishes outside top-30. The one-year win streak also seems to be a huge concern for him.
Daniel Suarez is also in a tough spot owing to the uncertainty about his Cup future as Trackhouse development driver Conor Zilisch has already established him as the next superstar with his wins. But in a recent interview, the Mexican American asserted that he isn’t concerned about his immediate future and is happy Trackhouse.
Discussing his championship chances, Suarez pointed out that the next-ten years of his career will be the most important one and believes if he a work hard with Trackhouse, it is possible to win.
I know that the next 10 years of my career are going to be the most important years. And if I want to win a championship, I have to be focused on how I’m going to do it. So, I believe Trackhouse can give me those tools. However, that has to be reflected.
Daniel Suarez said via Motorsports.com.
He then admitted that he is currently happy with how everything is at going on for him at Trackhouse, despite some noise about his future. Suarez is satisfied with what the team is offering them at the moment, but he wants to be more competitive but doesn’t think the time has come for him to change teams.
Let’s see what happens. It’s also very early to talk to other teams. But I am happy with Trackhouse. However, I am not satisfied. I want to be more competitive. I want more. And hopefully, we can achieve it together.
Daniel Suarez added.
Daniel Suarez explains what he wants to do to win a championship
Earlier talking about his championship chances, he highlighted that he still can easily make it into the playoff despite the inconsistency by winning races. He admitted that it’s going to be extremely hard for him to make it into the R-16 on points, as often one or two drivers will make it without securing race win.

Honestly, the state of the championship doesn’t worry me much. I know that to make it to the playoffs, you have to win. The issue of entering by points is very, very risky. Normally one driver, maybe two, pass through on points, but you really have to win. If you win, you’re in.
Daniel Suarez admitted.
Hence, he isn’t worried about the point situation, and is more focussed on executing a perfect race that will earn him a much-needed race win. He is looking into things they can do to improve the overall performance, learning from the mistakes of the last two seasons.
So, the issue of points doesn’t worry me. I am more focused on the issue of competition in how we are executing the races. What are we doing as a team to improve? What are we doing in 2025 that is better than 2024 to keep improving? And where are we going as well? What’s going to happen?
Daniel Suarez added.
The comments from the No:99 Chevy driver shows he understand that he and his crew is in a tough spot and is in need of a big change that can get their season back on the track. It will be interesting to see how long it will take them to get that game changing spark.
