The 2025 NASCAR Cup Series season has been a massive nightmare for the sports’ international superstar Daniel Suarez. From 36 races, he secured just two top-5s and just seven top-7s, with an average finish of 20.8. This forced Trackhouse Racing to sack him and replace him with rookie Conor Zilisch.
But he got an opportunity to bounce back, as Daniel Suarez was signed by Spire Motorsports for the 2026 Cup Series season. Talking about the recent move in an interview, the veteran slammed any doubts about his from and capability, asserting he is in the best spot he has ever been. The star racer highlighted his fitness and experience as his advantages.
On the competition side, I feel I’m in the best position I’ve ever been. I’m 33 years old and I’ve been in the Cup Series already for nine years. I’m probably one of the fittest drivers in the garage. I have the experience, and I still have the youth.
Daniel Suarez told RACER.
The veteran racer pointed out that at the moment he is his prime and most of the data proves his point. Hence, he feels really strong about his chances, and feels blessed about where he is at the moment, and declared that he is a complete driver.
I feel that is the prime range, and I want to make sure I use that data accordingly. So, I feel very, very good. I feel like I can bring something to the table that not many drivers can, and for that, I feel very blessed… Right now, I feel like a much better and complete driver.
Daniel Suarez added.
But the major challenge he is facing at the moment is the situation he is in regarding his career, as it’s not a situation he has found himself in. Regardless he is hopeful about a comeback and promised NASCAR that the next decade will be his best.
Honestly, if you were asking me two years ago, I really wanted to be here for 10 years. I wouldn’t say that anymore this year. That’s part of life. But, yes, I actually feel the best part of my career, I promise, is in the next five to 10 years.
Daniel Suarez declared.
Daniel Suarez admits he was unhappy with everything in 2025
The Spire Motorsports driver admitted that the 2025 Cup Season has been really disappointing for him and he wasn’t happy with changes that happened at Trackhouse Racing. He wasn’t having fun with the No:99 team, despite the fact that he was surrounded by the people he previously empierced success with.

The last year has been very difficult and I haven’t been happy. A lot of things have changed, like everything in life. People change. Business change. It’s OK. It’s part of it. I’m just very happy that there is going to be a change because I didn’t feel like this was my home anymore for some reason. Even though I love many people (at Trackhouse), I wasn’t having fun anymore and I didn’t like that.
Daniel Suarez said.
The comments from the Spire Motorsport driver seems interesting considering his recent form. But at the same tome for the team and his fans, this gives more hope. It would be interesting to see how everything is going to playout for the veteran in the coming years.
