The 2025 NASCAR Cup Season so far has been an emotional roller coaster for Daniel Suarez. He is in the peak of his career in terms of popularity, with his significant involvement in recently concluded Mexico City race weekend and in terms of race craft, though the results don’t show much. The uncertainty over his future is also a big topic discussion.
The 2025 season will mark the end of the two-year contract extension Daniel Saurez has signed with Trackhouse Racing in 2023. With Conor Zilisch waiting in the sidelines and the Mexican American underachieving in the last two seasons, the team is delaying the completing the new deal. This has sparked a lot of discussion about his career.
In his latest episode of the Dale Jr. Download podcast, hosted by Hall of Famer Dale Earnhardt Jr., he addressed the situation. He admitted that a deal will be concluded in the coming years, after a few uncomfortable areas of concerns are addressed. Suarez sees Trackhouse as his home and really wants to continue with them.
It’s going to be maybe in a few months…We’ll see what happens. There (are) still a lot of things (up) in the air, right now. There (are) just some things that I’m just uncomfortable in a few areas, a few things, but I love Trackhouse and I love this team. And this team for me has been my best home in the Cup Series.
Daniel Suarez said via Dale Jr. Download.
The team gave him the best shot at success that he got from any team, since his days in the lower divisions of the sports with Joe Gibbs Racing. He understands how significant this opportunity is and wants to reward his team by winning more races for the Chevy side, expanding the legacy of Trackhouse as well as himself in the sport.
I want to have more success with this team and I want to see this team successful, regardless of if I’m in it or not. Right now, honestly, everything is an option. All I know is that things are gonna work out.
Daniel Suarez added.
Daniel Suarez declares his love and respect for Trackhouse Racing
In a separate interview, Daniel Suarez addressed the same situation and shared his feelings about the respect he has for the sport. He was one of the major pieces of the puzzles that started the success journey of Trackhouse with Justin Marks and Ty Norris in 2021. In the recent times though he hasn’t given enough success as he used to and in the 2025 mid-season finds himself in a must-win situation.

I love Trackhouse. This is my home, and I’m forever thankful for everything that Justin and Trackhouse and Ty Norris, at the time, and a lot of people have done to build this amazing place…Lately, it’s been a little bit of a struggle, not just on the track but also off the track in a few things, and right now, we are in a must-win situation. We’re in a must-win situation.
Daniel Suarez said.
So, coming into this weekend’s race at Atlanta Motor Speedway, as well as the races in the near future, he is hopeful about ending his winless streak. But if the veteran fails to secure a win in the wild-card race stretch, there is a huge possibility of him missing out on the playoff yet again, as the No:99 Chevy team isn’t consistent enough to get into last 16 on points.
