2021 NASCAR Cup Series Champion Kyle Larson came into the inaugural race at Iowa Speedway, Iowa Corn 350 Powered by Ethanol, with the hopes of securing the maiden win. The No:5 Hendrick Motorsports Chevy driver was coming in fine form with an impressive victory last week at Sonoma Raceway.

The HMS driver has a great start to the weekend as he was able to secure the pole with the fastest car of the day and he went on to secure the stage two win with the good start. But his hopes of winning the race came crashing down earlier in the third stage as he got involved in a incident featuring Denny Hamlin and Daniel Suarez.

The No:99 Trackhouse Racing Chevy made contact with Kyle Larson in a three-way battle in the traffic and it resulted in the No:5 getting spun. He made contact with the No:11 Toyota of Hamlin who was on the outside before slamming hard into the wall. Larson’s car had significant damages that made him pit to fix them.

Can you go ask (spotter Chris) Lambert what the fuck? I know Denny is having a rough day, but...
Kyle Larson said.

Cliff Daniles, the crew chief of Larson, responded to his driver and asked him to let it go. He reminded him that he got the fastest car and doesn’t have such a time to waste on the ridiculous moment.

We are going to let that go. That's what we're going to do. It was unfortunate. I don't understand it. But we're going to let it go. We have the fastest car in the field by a ridiculous amount. We're going to keep our eyes forward.
Cliff Daniles replied.

It would be interesting to see how will Kyle Larson come back from this disappointing finish at New Hampshire next week. The poor finish did cost Larson the point advantage he had in the points table against Hamlin.
