The NASCAR Cup Series race on Sunday at Darlington witnessed some wild moments. But the most egregious incident of them was the wreck involving Spire Motorsports’ Carson Hocevar and RFK Racing owner driver Brad Keselowski. The No:77 Chevy attracted more criticism for the wreck and his dismissive attitude towards it.
Joe Gibbs Racing veteran Denny Hamlin talked about the incident on his Action Detrimental podcast. He kept things simple and asserted that Hocevar wrecked Keselowski. The veteran refused to directly address the driver, insisting he doesn’t want to give him more limelight.
Carson wrecked Brad. What else? You’re not going to get anything more from me. Because I’m not going to give him what he wants. I’m not going to give him the clip that he wants. Period.
Denny Hamlin said on his podcast.
The veteran shifted the discussion to Spire Motorsports and how they respond to their attitude towards Carson Hocevar’s aggressive brand of racing. Denny Hamlin is unhappy with the team, saying that they need adult among the leadership that says enough is enough.
You want me to talk about Spire? I’ll talk about Spire. There’s no adults in the room, clearly, in that building. No adults. That’s my opinion.
Denny Hamlin added via Actions Detrimental.
Jeff Dickerson and the ownership don’t seem to care about the incident, as the youngster is getting them results as well as significant attention, earning them millions in sponsorship. Hamlin though sees their attitude as nothing but something that exposes the unserious nature of the team.
Because, honestly, think that’s what’s best for your company? If you’re running a serious organization. I think they’re unserious. Anything else?
Denny Hamlin asserted.
Denny Hamlin isn’t 100% confident Brad Keselowksi will take his revenge
The veteran also talked about Brad Keselowski’s claim that he would have his retaliation. Though the veteran has a history of being an aggressive racer, Hamlin doubts the No:6 Ford driver would respond on the same level, considering he isn’t the first driver to threat Hocevar.

Brad’s comments, I would say, he seemed upset, and I have reason to doubt what Brad says, but we’ve seen and heard that before.
Denny Hmalin said.
In the same discussion, Hamlin was asked where Keselowski stands among racers that would follow up on retaliation threats. The TRD drivers feel the 2012 champion ranks in the midfield in the list, hinting a retaliation wreck isn’t 1005 guaranteed.
Great question. Trust their words on retaliation, because that’s different. I trust Brad’s word. Middle of the pack.
Denny Hamlin asserted.
The comments from the veteran racer are on point and shows how Hocevar is getting the pack from majority of the field for one reason or another. It would be interesting to see how everything is going to playout for the star driver in the coming days.
