23XI Racing is in a tough spot over its legal battle against NASCAR. The Cup team along with Front Row Motorsports filed a lawsuit against the sport over the new proposed charters. In recent weeks, the situation has gone worse with both teams losing the charters for now. Team co-owner Denny Hamlin now faces the risk of losing his star driver Tyler Reddick to a rival team. Amid the media speculation, the veteran has finally broken his silence.

The latest update in the legal fight strips away 23XI Racing and Front Row Motorsports from their charter rights, with the two garages competing as open teams for now. This could work until the end of the season. However, such a system could violate driver contracts, where drivers are guaranteed that they will be racing with charters. Tyler Reddick‘s contract with Denny Hamlin‘s team is believed to have a similar clause.

There have been reports that such a contract violation could allow someone like Reddick to become a free agent for next season. This would be nothing short of a headache for Denny Hamlin, considering the No. 45 driver is arguably the most successful one at 23XI. Losing their star driver at a time when the team is struggling on the legal front would be terrible optics for team owners Hamlin and NBA legend Michael Jordan.

During this weekend’s round at Dover, Denny Hamlin had to finally give an answer to the speculation surrounding Tyler Reddick’s future. Though, the JGR veteran remained clear of giving any actual information, simply stating that he had no comment to make. So far, Reddick has not addressed the situation with the media either.

I don’t have any direct comment to that.

Denny Hamlin told Jeff Gluck.

Denny Hamlin declares all answers will come in legal trial against NASCAR

The legal trial over the lawsuit will start on December 1, 2025. So far, the verdicts around the preliminary injunctions have only made matters worse for Denny Hamlin’s team. The latest verdict by the Fourth District of Appeals prevented 23XI and FRM from competing as charter teams for at least the Dover and Indianapolis weekends.

Denny Hamlin was asked by the media about losing the charter rights for at least two races. The 23XI Racing co-owner did not express his feelings. Rather, he gave a blunt response, claiming that the truth will come out once the trial begins in December. So much so, Hamlin reckoned that everything about the lawsuit would finally get ‘exposed.’

If you want answers and you want to understand why this is all happening, come (to the trial) December 1st. You’ll get the answers you’re looking for and all will be exposed.

Denny Hamlin stated.

While Hamlin might be confident about the December trial, it is still some time away. By the time the trial starts, Tyler Reddick might already be fed up with the situation and potentially take up an offer from a rival team. However, so far, the No. 45 has shown faith in Hamlin’s garage.
